Advertised on behalf of HaysAre you a reliable Maintenance Operative / Electrical Mate with basic electrical skills or experience as an Electrical Mate?Hays is recruiting for a motivated individual to join an on-site maintenance team in Watford, working closely alongside a qualified electrician.
The RoleIn this position, you will support day-to-day building maintenance duties, including assisting with electrical works under supervision. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the site, delivering safe, compliant, and high‑quality work.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the electrician with routine electrical maintenance and minor repairs
* Perform general building maintenance tasks as required
* Carry out basic electrical duties where competent
* Support planned and reactive maintenance activities
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures
What We’re Looking For
* Maintenance Operative with basic electrical knowledge, or
* Electrical Mate with site experience
* Strong practical skills and a proactive attitude
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to work independently when required
Pay & Employment
* £37,000–£38,000 max / Up to£18.27 Paye / £22.85 per hour umbrella
* Available as PAYE or Umbrella PAYE
* Long‑term opportunity for the right candidate
