I'm working with a fantastic specialist school in Barking and Dagenham that puts care, patience, and individuality at the heart of everything they do. This is a setting where no two days are the same, and every child’s progress, no matter how big or small, is celebrated.
They’re looking for a SEND Learning Support Assistant who brings warmth, resilience, and a real passion for supporting children with additional needs.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD and SLD.
* Working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored, engaging learning activities
* Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and understood
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development throughout the school day
* Supporting with personal care where required, always with dignity and respect
* Helping to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment

* Experience working with children or young people with SEND, in schools or care settings
* A patient, empathetic approach and a genuine desire to make a difference
* Someone who stays calm under pressure and adapts to the needs of each child
* Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to get stuck in
