In the SEN Learning Support (SEN LSA) role, you will play a vital part in helping students overcome challenges to learning, whether through one-to-one support or in small group settings. Your role will involve working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to ensure that pupils receive the care, attention, and guidance they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Your Responsibilities as a SEN Learning Support: Support students with a range of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties. Assist in the delivery of tailored learning programmes and Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic and emotional development. Help pupils build confidence, self-esteem, and independence. Record and report on student progress to teaching staff and SENCOs. Provide personal care and mobility assistance if required. Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to support student needs. SEN Learning Support (LSA) Requirements: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN as a SEN Learning Support in a school or similar setting. A degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related subject is advantageous. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A nurturing, patient, and flexible attitude. An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one. Why Join GSL Education?
