Overview
The National Trust operates 185 cafés across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We are looking for a Food and Beverage Team Leader to work in a rural location. Please consider your transport before applying.
Working Hours and Conditions
This is a zero‑hour contract. We aim for a consistent pattern but flexibility is required: weekends and bank holidays are included. There are no evening or split shifts. Typical shifts run from 10 am to 5 pm. We will try to give as much notice as possible.
Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day support to the front‑of‑house team.
* Deal directly with customers and serve food and drink.
* Ensure displays, signs and food appearance meet quality standards.
* Assist the kitchen team with food preparation when needed.
* Supervise induction and ongoing training of colleagues.
* Mentor team members to deliver outstanding service.
* Complete induction and training in allergens and food safety.
Qualifications
* No prior experience required; we value enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
* Focused on giving great service to everyone you meet.
* Team player, able to work independently and on initiative.
* Well‑organised and adaptable.
* Capable of leading, supporting and developing a team.
* Confident dealing with a variety of situations, including complaints.
* Willing to learn new skills.

Compensation
£13.25 per hour. Fixed‑term contract ending 02 May 2027.
