Civil Enforcement Officer
Main Purpose of the Job/Key Objectives:
· To undertake Civil Parking Enforcement in accordance with prevailing legislation
and in harmony with related policy aims and objectives of the Council
· To undertake duties consistent with the operational functions of Traffic & Parking
Control and StreetCare
· This role requires the employee to have a licence to drive vehicles necessary to
undertake duties consistent with the function of the service
Job Context:
1. The potholder reports to: Civil Enforcement Supervisor or Service Unit
Officer
2. The potholder will be required to work outside ‘normal’ office hours as required
up to 36 hours per week
Experience
· It is desirable to have experience of working, and undertaking, civil parking
enforcement both on and off street within a Traffic & Parking Control environment
· It is desirable to have experience of operating a civil parking enforcement
Management/processing software system for the issuing of Penalty Charge Notices
· It is desirable to have experience of the statutory guidance of the Traffic
Management Act 2004 sufficient to undertake the administrative, enforcement or
other duties under the aforementioned piece of legislation
· It is desirable to have experience of specific Health & Safety processes required in
a lone working environment
Qualifications
· City & Guilds Level 2 Award for Civil Enforcement Officers (parking) or equivalent
Working conditions/circumstances
· Willing and able to work outside of core hours
· Ability to work individually or as part of a team
