Construction Manager London based with a balance of home and office working - Covering the London, East & South East Regions £55,761 - £58,696 per year plus Company car or car allowance 35 hours per week We are looking for a Construction Manager to take lead and be responsible for the delivery of new build construction programmes and projects within the region. You will manage and monitor the day to day delivery of these programmes and projects on behalf of the Group, built via external contractors on our behalf also including through our own in-house construction team. Joining the development department, you will be based at Blackwall Reach London with a balance of home and office working and will need to travel to different sites within the area. We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to assist in our ambition to develop new build housing within the region. You will be responsible for monitoring the construction and delivery of a range of projects including residential homes for rent and sale, apartment blocks and care homes. With a background in monitoring standards and controlling contractors to ensure quality is maintained and that all work is carried out to specification, this is a great opportunity to progress and develop your career within an ambitious organisation. The role of Construction Managerwill include: Overseeing and monitoring the day to day delivery of construction projects to ensure compliance with technical design and quality standards Inspecting all stages of construction and providing technical support and advice Delivering high quality and value for money construction projects in line with legislative and regulatory requirements Ensuring Health and Safety standards are met throughout completion of construction works Effectively managing, communicating and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, including contractors Ensuring all construction projects are fit for purpose, completed to a high standard and meet the needs of the intended end user Effective line management of staff within the team; carrying out performance management duties and developing quality staff Skills and experiences: Demonstrable experience working in a similar role within the new build construction industry Knowledge of building standards, regulations, legislation and current practice. Including the practical application of Health and Safety legislation Previous experience in managing quality in construction projects in a complex and demanding environment Ability to prioritise, plan, schedule and evaluate works and solve problems effectively Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook This role will involve driving on company business. T he Construction Manager will spend most of their time at various sites throughout the region.
