Residential Children's Home Team Leader
(Full-time | Shift-based | Permanent or Freelance outside IR35)
£15.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Are you an experienced residential childcare practitioner ready to take the next step into leadership?
We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to support our care team in delivering outstanding, child-centred practice within our therapeutic children's home for children aged 8–17 who have experienced trauma and adversity.
The Role:
As a Residential Team Leader, you will:
* Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers to provide consistent, therapeutic care.
* Act as shift leader, ensuring routines, activities, and safeguarding practices are followed to the highest standards.
* Contribute to care planning and risk assessments in partnership with the management team.
* Role-model trauma-informed approaches (PACE, NVR – training provided).
* Ensure accurate record-keeping, incident reporting, and compliance with Children's Homes Regulations.
* Provide reflective supervision, mentoring, and support to staff on shift.
We're Looking For:
* Essential: Previous experience in a children's residential home.
* NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to lead on shift.
* Emotional resilience, reflective skills, and the ability to model therapeutic approaches.
* A commitment to providing nurturing, consistent care in line with our values.
* Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins/waking nights as required.
