Job Summary

The Community Vaccination Service is looking for a team player and experienced HCSW to deliver the school age vaccination programme alongside the Covid vaccination delivery to housebound patients and care homes, also assisting the admin lead with delegated tasks. Vaccinations are the safest and most effective way of protecting individuals and communities from vaccine preventable diseases. Working for the Community Vaccination Service allows you to work as part of a team supporting and promoting the importance of vaccines who are passionate to protect this age group and offering support to the Integrated Vaccination Service across the Trust. This vacancy is for 1 role, Pan Dorset with base yet to be confirmed. The post is for 37.5 hours TTO.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.


Main duties of the job

* Administering selected vaccines in schools, at community clinics, in care homes and in patient homes.
* Collecting vaccines and equipment from vaccine bases.
* Health promotion/Vaccine education
* Community engagement.
* Delegated administration tasks as identified by the admin lead, such as running reports, liaising with schools/service users, data collection.

Person Specification

Essential

* Knowledge, Skills and Training
o Willing and able to apply existing experience and gain necessary skills to work effectively in the community, hospitals or other community settings, equivalent to a vocational level 3 qualification
o Willing to professionally develop and undertake further development / training as identified to meet the needs of the service, including Trust Band 3 Extended Skills programme and Care Certificate.
* Job Specific Experience
o Ability to work on own initiative, but with a commitment to participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice and further develop skills.
o Excellent IT skills
o Willingness to learn and adapt
* Personal Qualities/Attributes
o Ability to prioritise
o Enthusiastic and motivated
o Evidence of demonstrating the Trust\'s values and behaviours
o Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively
