Our client, an award-winning rotating equipment repairs workshop, is seeking a Workshop Supervisor for their electrical repairs division. You will report to the Workshop Manager and oversee a team of workshop electrical fitters and other personnel.
The role involves repairing rotating equipment on the electrical side, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, generators, and other rotating equipment. Key responsibilities include:
1. Supervising and providing technical support to workshop operatives
2. Dismantling and inspecting work to ensure quality
3. Testing motors and repairing motors, gearboxes, pumps, generators
4. Managing workflow and ensuring excellent customer service
5. Progressing jobs through the workshop
6. Ordering parts and managing job progression
7. Covering for the Workshop Manager during leave
8. Ensuring workshop procedures are followed
9. Allocating jobs and monitoring progress
10. Inspecting jobs before delivery and maintaining training records
11. Deputising for the Workshop Manager when required
12. Managing calibration of measuring equipment
13. Attending site work as needed and handling out-of-hours call outs
To apply, you will have:
* Experience as a workshop electrical fitter, working with motors including AC & DC machines
* Experience repairing rotating equipment from an electrical perspective
* Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not provided)
* Location in or willing to relocate to Greater Manchester/North West England
* Supervisory, management, or team leader experience (preferred)
* Full clean driving licence
* Availability to cover shifts on a rota basis
