Tesco Online is the UK’s largest online grocer, where slot pricing and proposition play a key role in driving delivery income and optimising capacity. This role is accountable for the end-to-end Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) slot pricing and offer proposition, bringing together both strategy and execution to deliver measurable outcomes while enhancing customer perception of the slot proposition. In this role, you will focus on optimising pricing and demand across Home Delivery and Click & Collect, improving utilisation, participation and overall performance. Working collaboratively across Online, Product, Technology, Data Science, Finance and Marketing, there is an opportunity to shape the future of slot pricing across the Online ecosystem, including new businesses, while building automation and personalisation capabilities. Slot Pricing Proposition & Performance Defining and evolving Tesco Online’s PAYG slot pricing strategy across Home Delivery and Click & Collect Delivering against key in-year commercial outcomes, including delivery income per order and slot utilisation Optimising pricing levers (such as price points, segmentation and promotions) to balance profitability and customer demand Designing and testing pricing structures and promotional approaches to support both value perception and commercial performance Capacity Optimisation & Slot Mix Using pricing and slot capping to help shape demand and influence the proposition mix (1 hour vs 4 hour vs Click & Collect) Improving capacity utilisation while reducing operational inefficiencies Future of Slot Pricing (Dynamic, Automated & Personalised) Contributing to the roadmap towards more dynamic, automated and intelligent slot pricing capabilities Collaborating with emerging online businesses to develop a cohesive pricing proposition and supporting capabilities Partnering with Technology and Data Science teams to scale pricing infrastructure effectively Strong problem-solving skills and structured thinking Experience in data analysis and experimentation, with a test-and-learn mindset Confidence delivering cross-functional projects and collaborating with diverse teams Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders Strong storytelling capability, with the ability to simplify complex topics for different audiences Comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments Experience in strategy or proposition development within Online, Retail or Marketplace settings A proven track record of delivering cross-functional initiatives with measurable commercial impact Strong analytical capability, including experience with data models, pricing approaches or experimentation frameworks An understanding of online grocery economics, including delivery income, capacity constraints and demand elasticity
