The purpose of this role, under the supervision of the Community Dietitians, is to support a range of patients with various medical conditions who receive tube feeding at home across North and North East Lincolnshire.
The post holder will carry the responsibility for a defined caseload of patients. This will include performing routine dietetic reviews to ensure dietetic care plans are being followed. The post holder will be able to give advice under supervision from the dietitian on nutritional interventions for symptom control and disease management.
The post holder will be required to assist in delivering patient and staff education programmes and supervision to student dietitians.
The post holder will provide a wide variety of administrative and clerical support in relation to enteral and oral nutrition support ensuring patients receive the feeding products and ancillaries required for home feeding.
The post holder will need to work closely with both registered and non-registered staff within the dietetics service.
Multiagency working is a cornerstone of home enteral feeding, so the post holder will need to establish and maintain working relationships with various multidisciplinary teams, ward discharge teams, and administrative teams.
The post holder will be a first point of contact for the third-party company that provides home enteral feeding products and ancillaries. You will be required to liaise closely with the contracting team responsible for the provision of a Hospital to Home Feed Service, and to be able to converse regularly with patients regarding the service and equipment required for their needs.
