Operations Associate – Banking Wealth Services

Salary: £33,500

Contract: 12 months (possibility for perm)


Role Overview:

The Operations Associate is responsible for delivering high-quality operational processing and support within the Wealth Services platform. This includes validating and executing financial transactions, maintaining accurate client records and transaction data, and performing daily reconciliations. The role involves close collaboration with client relationship managers, internal operations teams, and platform experts to ensure seamless service delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

* Execute and validate financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
* Maintain up-to-date and precise client records and transaction data.
* Perform daily reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support client needs and operational efficiency.


Candidate Profile:

* A strong interest in financial operations and a desire to grow within a global team environment.
* An understanding of how operations support investment monitoring, measurement, and processing.
* A willingness to develop skills across various operational functions.

What the Hiring Manager is Looking For:

Ideal Background:

* Experience in asset transfers, custody, settlements, or similar back-office roles within financial services.
* Broader financial services operations experience will be considered if the candidate demonstrates strong skills and behaviours.


Desirable System Knowledge:

* CREST (UK equities settlement)
* DTC (US securities settlement)
* Origo / Calastone (unit trust/fund transfers)]


Relevant Industry Experience:

* Wealth Management
* Investment Operations
* Transfer Agency


Essential Skills & Behaviours:

* High attention to detail – accuracy is critical for tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
* Strong communication skills – both written (email) and verbal (phone), especially when dealing with counterparties and internal teams.
* Process discipline and risk awareness – must follow procedures precisely.
* Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
* Comfortable with reconciliation, exception handling, and proactive issue resolution in a semi-automated environment.
