We are seeking a highly an experienced and motivated neonatal nurse to join the Neonatal Outreach Team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical care, leadership, and education within a dynamic neonatal service, supporting staff, infants and their families across the care pathway.
You will act as a clinical expert, role model, and advocate for evidence-based neonatal practice, contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Main duties of the job
* To be a competent, knowledgeable and visible practitioner within neonatal care, ensuring the provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing care.
* To provide information, advice, and support to families
* To advise and support staff in relation to neonatal care and practices
* Ensure that each neonate cared for in the ward environment is assessed, and their care is planned, implemented, and evaluated in negotiation with the family, neonatal consultant, neonatal clinical nurse specialist and other staff caring for the neonate and that this is accurately communicated and documented
* To promote family centred care, maintaining a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for families, visitors and staff
* To demonstrate effective leadership skills
* To act as a resource, providing clinical leadership and professional advice to the MDT.
* Manage service within agreed budget, working with the Neonatal Matron to identify ways of delivering cost improvements / improving efficiency
* Maintain own professional development and mandatory training, identifying learning needs in relation to specialist area of practice.
* Create and distribute reports as agreed with leadership team
