The role requires working within the Engineering team to ensure all plant, equipment and services operate efficiently and safely to support production and sales.

* Operate an effective planned preventative maintenance programme for plant and equipment, reducing downtime
* Seek out areas for plant improvement and recommend actions that increase quality, utilization, throughput, etc.
* Meet company quality standards at all times
* Participate in Bakery Team training and briefing
* Work in different parts of the bakery as required and shift patterns
* Use all company business tools/equipment provided following company procedures
* Establish cause of electrical and mechanical breakdowns and implement best solutions
* Diagnose electrical or mechanical faults and carry out day‑to‑day repairs
* Routine maintenance of production equipment and machinery
* Ensure effective communication between and within departments and shifts to maintain production capacity and engineering efficiency
* Ensure all administration and documentation is completed at the end of every shift
* Respond quickly to any issue, especially under breakdown conditions, to minimise downtime
* Organise routine servicing schedules
* Check and calibrate instruments for accuracy
* Fit new parts
* Keep Operational Managers informed on repair progress
* Participate actively in a continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste
* Ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules and look for reliability improvements
* Assist with implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques
Skills
* Engineering qualification
* Minimum of 5 years engineering experience
* Fault finding
* HSE awareness and due diligence
* Good mechanical and electrical skills
* Understanding of engineering drawings and principles
* PLC experience from working in a bakery / food manufacturing site
