We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and committed Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dagenham, starting as soon as possible. As a Reception Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality EYFS provision that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. You will create a structured yet play-based learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and creativity while ensuring all children make strong progress. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess engaging EYFS lessons aligned with the Early Years Framework Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment Support children’s development across communication, language, literacy, numeracy, and personal development Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform planning Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years staff Build strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication Maintain accurate records, learning journals, and assessments Contribute to EYFS planning, moderation, and whole-school initiatives Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching in EYFS, ideally Reception Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic about early learning Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills Be reflective, creative, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Dagenham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
