Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Junior Technical Author interested in working within a software delivery function, contributing to high-quality product documentation for our customers. You will be involved with various software products and will take ownership of producing and maintaining product and user guides, release notes, and product enhancements. You will work closely with product, development, and support teams to create reference materials that explain features and functionalities.
Joining our Service Management department, you will have a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills. We seek a Junior Technical Author/Writer capable of creating and reviewing technical documentation aimed at diverse audiences to facilitate understanding of our products. Your role will emphasize continuous delivery, driving improvements, and meeting deadlines.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Experience in creating and reviewing documentation or user-focused information.
* Awareness of software development and delivery processes.
* Ability to accept and incorporate constructive feedback to improve content.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, development teams, and product owners.
* Quality-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality user documentation.
* Understanding of information design to appropriately use graphics, language, and headings.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Customer-focused with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
* Knowledge or awareness of agile methodologies, preferably Scrum and Kanban.
Additional beneficial skills include:
* Experience with Technical Authoring tools like MadCap Flare or Adobe RoboHelp.
* Knowledge of version control software such as Git.
* Experience working in software development or documenting APIs.
Salary
The salary for the Junior Technical Author role ranges from £25,000 to £30,000 per annum.
