Would you like to join our Asset Management team as a Contract Officer and help us to deliver amazing service for our residents?
We are recruiting for a full-time permanent Contract Officer, based at our office in Oldham, who will be part of our Mechanical and Electrical Compliance team within our Asset Management directorate. This is an exciting opportunity which requires a strong, proven background in managing the relationship, performance, and legal obligations of?the contractors delivering our safety requirements. You must have the ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise your workload to ensure we meet statutory requirements.
About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Officer to join our mechanical and electrical team on a permanent full-time basis, based at our office in Oldham. Our working style is hybrid, with specific days to be agreed during the onboarding process.
We are a dedicated team all working hard to deliver an amazing customer-focused service in a specialised area of work. Our team is responsible for looking after our Door Entry, Automatic Doors, Barriers, Gates, Warden Call, CCTV, TV Aerials, Fall Arrest, Laundry, Playgrounds and Smoke Detection. This is not an exhaustive list.
As a Contract Officer, you will support the Contract Manager to manage a defined group of contracts delivering asset compliance services, helping ensure our assets comply with relevant regulations and contributing to customer safety, satisfaction, and value for money. Managing repairs, planned preventive maintenance schedules, attendance, and no access procedures with the allocated contractor. Collectively we also deliver multi-million-pound projects so an understanding of CDM regulations, compliance & health and safety, and project management experience is advantageous.

Previous experience of supporting the management or delivery of asset compliance contracts is highly desirable. You'll need to have great attention to detail and experience of analysing data to identify improvements required.
You’ll also be able to demonstrate:
* Proven experience of contractor/performance management
* Awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to asset compliance (within social housing would be ideal)
* An understanding of risk and health and safety requirements
* Good level of experience of data analysis, ideally using advanced Excel features such as pivot tables and v-lookups
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent customer-focused attitude to align with our Guinness Behaviours
* Ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
* Ability to gather information, diagnose problems, draw logical conclusions and suggest practical solutions
* Experience of building and maintaining relationships with contractors, tenants and staff across different functions
* A sound understanding of financial controls
* Dashboard management for stakeholders
* Ideally experience with Northgate/NEC or other housing management systems
