Job Title: Nursery Practitioner

Salary: £26k-£28.5k dependent on experience

We are seeking a nursery practitioner. You must be qualified to a minimum of a level 3 nursery practitioner qualification to apply and have previous experience of working in a nursery setting before.
This position is full time all year round.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and participate in a range of activities in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Service) Framework, to promote each childs physical, intellectual and emotional needs to enable them to reach their full potential.
Assist with the implementation of activities which encourage linguistic and social interaction between children and their carers.
Be a key worker for a group of children within the Nursery setting by observing, monitoring and recording each key childs individual development.
Complete Tapestry entries for children within the setting observing, monitoring and capturing information and progress which is logged within the individual online learning journals.
To attend parents evenings / open days and staff training as and when required.
Communicate with parents / carers about the day to day needs of the children by fostering parental involvement and encouraging positive parenting skills.
Assist children in acquiring self-help skills including dressing, feeding, toilet training and an awareness of personal hygiene.
Help ensure that the Nursery meets safety and hygiene requirements and to report any issues to a senior member of staff. Participating in any cleaning rotas in place within the setting.
To be flexible within working practices in the Nursery. Be prepared to assist where needed, including the undertaking of domestic jobs (laundry and cleaning) within the Nursery.
To be aware of and comply with all LifeLines policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Child Protection Policy, Confidentiality Procedures and Equal Opportunities
Keep up to date with developments in childcare and parent education through the reading nursery publications, online nursery sites and regular training courses as appropriate.
Work additional hours to maintain ratios as and when be required

Essential qualifications:
NNEB/CACHE, BTEC or NVQ in Childcare at Level 3
GCSE Maths and English C or above and or Functional Skills Level 2 English, Maths and ICT
Recent evidence of professional development
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
