Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) level Security Clearance. An allowance of £5,000 per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role. The role requires full-time onsite presence (Mon–Fri, 37.5 hours per week). You must have lived in the UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
About this role
* Security-focused Infrastructure Engineer to support and develop critical, large-scale on-prem Cybersecurity platforms within our Cyber Processing & Data Science capability area.
* Embed security controls into our architectures, processes and ways of working, ensuring alignment with industry best practice.
* Work closely within a multi-disciplined engineering team to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
* Demonstrate technical leadership through the quality of your work, whilst also supporting others through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
What you'll be doing
* Drive improvement in the platform's security posture, ensuring that security controls are embedded as early as possible.
* Take ownership of complex technical deliveries, being confident with ambiguous high-level problem statements.
* Be a practitioner and advocate in the use of DevSecOps technologies, tools, and practices.
* Support the maintenance of existing IT infrastructure.
* Identify and lead the improvement of inefficient or insecure ways of working.
What you'll need to succeed
* Have a passion for technology, and creating solutions that make new things possible.
* Be self-driven, able to get to grips with innovative technologies and demonstrate independent research and learning.
* Demonstrate good problem-solving ability, able to work through issues in a logical manner, documenting solutions as required.
* Experience with Linux.
* Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks (or similar).
* Experience with Vulnerability Scanning (e.g., Trivy, Nessus).
* Experience with Security Information and Event Management.
* Experience with Static Code Analysis.
* Experience with Software Bill of Materials (SBOM).
* Experience with Patch Management.
* Knowledge of Kubernetes Security Standards.
