Job Overview
Provide fixed‑term coverage for the Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) team, delivering expert clinical care across HIV, Sexual Health and Contraception services in Norfolk. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to shape and develop services for a diverse population.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical care across the full range of genitourinary conditions and HIV.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team in delivering sexual health and contraception services to national standards.
- Advise and direct medical, nursing, allied and administrative staff.
- Support achievement of STI/HIV local public health targets and local care pathways.
- Participate in education, supervision, service development, quality improvement and audit.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and the wider community through face‑to‑face, written and virtual channels.
- Maintain professional development, undertake CPD and contribute to clinical governance, risk management and safeguarding.
- Engage with the local HIV network and use the electronic patient database efficiently.
- Produce reports, audit work and research output as part of the service audit plan.
- Participate in relevant meetings, governance and strategic work at the Trust and corporate level.
People Management
- Maintain own professional development and annual performance appraisal.
- Mentor new staff and students where required.
- Support and develop the clinical team, ensuring compliance with GMC relicensing and revalidation.
- Support the orientation, training and development of iCaSH staff and partners.
Research & Development
- Initiate and participate in research projects to improve service quality.
- Lead audit projects and implement action plans.
Qualifications & Training
- Diploma in Genitourinary (GU) Medicine.
- Diploma in HIV Medicine.
- Diploma in CoSRH (College of Sexual and Reproductive Health).
- Entry on the GMC specialist register (or within 6 months of interview).
- MBBS or equivalent; MRCP or equivalent.
Knowledge & Skills
- Leadership, organisational and communication skills suitable for a senior doctor in a community team.
- Ability to prioritise workload and inspire a multi‑disciplinary team.
Experience
- Managing STI’s and HIV/AIDS.
- Experience in sexual health clinical areas such as vulval disease and psychosexual medicine.
Safeguarding
- Ability to safeguard and promote welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
