We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our friendly, hardworking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining blood samples from patients in a professional caring manner, whilst demonstrating high standards with regards to infection control and good working practices. They will work closely with the wider GP team: Doctors, nurses, allied health care professionals and administrative staff, to support the delivery of effective clinical services.
You will be contracted to work five hours a week including working until 8pm on either a Wednesday or Thursday. There will be opportunities for additional hours as the need arises.
Main duties of the job
You will run phlebotomy clinics, collecting blood samples from patients within timed appointments. You will be able to show patience, have a caring attitude and be able to put patients at ease. You will call their own patients and manage your clinic list in a timely manner.

Dyneley House Surgery is a CQC-rated outstanding practice providing primary medical services in the vibrant market town of Skipton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. We are a rapidly expanding practice committed to providing an excellent service to our 15,500 patients. We are also a teaching and training practice.
The practice is led by a team of six partners who work with their clinical team of salaried GPs, ACPs, practice nurses, clinical pharmacists and healthcare assistants. Our patients also benefit from the services of a mental health nurse, mental health coaches, social prescribers and a first-contact physiotherapist. Our non-clinical team ensures that the practice functions efficiently. We use SystmOne and can provide training and support to applicants who are not familiar with this.
We are part of the Wharfedale, Airedale and Craven Alliance (WACA) primary care network which consists of seven local practices that work together to deliver PCN targets and to share good practice. We host self-help groups and our PPG meets regularly.
Job responsibilities
The core responsibilities of a phlebotomist at Dyneley House are:
* Taking blood samples from patients
* Ensuring that all current blood requests are dealt with at a single appointment
* Preparing the pathology documents to ensure that the blood tests are correctly analysed
* Ensuring the correct preparation and storing of blood samples prior to collection
* Following infection control procedures

* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Qualified in phlebotomy
