About the Job Role:
The client is seeking staff to provide specialist disability support to young people requiring assistance while participating in the Skills for Life and Work, Training for Success, and/or Apprenticeships NI Programmes.
This role also involves administrative duties to ensure accurate, complete, and timely records of support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core Duties:
* Provide direct one-to-one and group-based disability support according to an agreed schedule of activities.
* Support the tutor by delivering appropriate disability specialist learning support for participants.
* Assist the DSS Co-ordinator with monitoring and evidencing progress against Performance Targets.
* Stimulate and promote effective, learner-centred independent learning strategies to enable participation, motivation, and self-esteem.
* Maintain accurate records to support ongoing monitoring and review, raising issues with line management as needed.
General Duties:
* Adhere to the Group's 'Code of Conduct', maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and quality standards.
* Perform duties in compliance with policies on equal opportunities, health and safety, and data protection.
* Complete tasks and participate in development opportunities to maintain professional competency.
Person Specification:
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of supporting people with disabilities in employment, education, or training settings (D)
- Ability to work with participants with varying support needs (D)
- Proficiency in ICT, including MS Office Suite and SharePoint (E)
Qualifications and Training:
- Educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, including Maths and English (E)
- Good IT skills for data presentation (E)
Experience:
- Proven experience working with young people with diverse needs, supporting goal setting and progression (E)
