Role Overview The Fabric Estimator will play a key role within our pre-construction team, responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of building fabric, refurbishment, and minor works projects. You will work closely with our design, operations, and procurement teams to ensure that all estimates align with client requirements, technical standards, and company objectives. Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for building fabric and general construction works, including joinery, roofing, ceilings, partitions, flooring, and general finishes. * Review tender documentation, specifications, and drawings to identify scope, risks, and opportunities. * Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to support the estimating process. * Liaise with mechanical, electrical, and construction teams to ensure coordinated multidisciplinary bids. * Prepare bills of quantities (BoQs), take-offs, and cost breakdowns using relevant estimating software. * Contribute to value engineering proposals and cost-saving initiatives. * Support bid submissions, tender queries, and client presentations as required. * Maintain up-to-date cost databases and benchmarking information. * Ensure all estimating work complies with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Skills & Experience Essential: * Proven experience as an Estimator within construction, facilities management, or a building fabric environment. * Sound knowledge of construction materials, methods, and best practices. * Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. * Strong numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. * Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Conquest, or similar) and Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel). Desirable: * Experience working within a multi-discipline (M&E Construction) environment. * Understanding of pricing reactive maintenance, planned works, and refurbishment projects. * Relevant construction or estimating qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Studies, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent).
