Become part of the Team in shaping the future of Primary Care and Community Services in North Wales.

The Primary and Community Care Academy in North Wales in partnership with Hillcrest Medical Centre have developed a Multi-Disciplinary Practitioner Training Hub in North Wales to offer a range of training and learning opportunities for the current and next generation of primary and community care practitioners.


Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Lead Clinical Pharmacists in our Skills, Education and Training Hub at Hillcrest Medical Centre. The Training Team will also include GPs. The Team will work collaboratively to deliver the range of training, education and skills enhancement opportunities at the Health Centre, regionally as members of the Academy faculty and will actively promote and undertake clinical research at the practice.

The job plan will include protected/dedicated sessions for the clinical and educational supervision of a small cohort of trainees, this will/may include Pharmacists, Trainee Pharmacists, Medical Students, Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GP Trainees.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop their own advanced clinical and professional development in line with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society advanced and consultant practice frameworks

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

Hillcrest Medical Centre is situated in Wrexham, with a list size of 15,343 the Practice has an extensive multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff. The Practice also operates a tailored telephony system to support with patient access to services (this is in place for all of our Health Board practices in the East Area).

Located close to Wrexham city, the practice has easy access to the A483/A55 dual carriageways (with the city of Chester just a short drive away) and the national M53/M56/M6 motorway network. The city also boasts the well-known Wrexham Association Football Club now owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

* Registered pharmacist with GPhC
* Independent prescriber
* A substantive level of post qualification experience in primary care/secondary care, including within the area of clinical specialist practice


Desirable criteria

* Teaching/assessing qualification
* Development of services across the primary secondary care interface
* Experience of acting as a Designated Prescribing Practitioner
