Full-Time, 10 month Fixed-Term
Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Creative Writing in the Department of English.
The successful candidate will join a team of prize-winning writers and dedicated teachers in the department, including five Fellows of the Royal Society of Literature. Our BA English and Creative Writing was ranked 3rd in the UK (Complete University Guide 2025) and we are proud that our student body is very diverse.
You will have a national profile as an author with a track record of writing fiction, and experience of teaching creative writing at undergraduate level. You will have demonstrated the ability to work with others in teaching and/or administration. You will be committed to inclusive teaching and diversifying the curriculum and have a strong commitment to pastoral support and mentoring. Candidates will be expected to provide teaching in creative writing at BA levels, with an emphasis on fiction.

The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
This is a fixed term post to cover a period of maternity leave for 2025-26. This appointment could end earlier than expected should the substantive post-holder return to work early.
