Overview
We are looking to appoint an HCPC registered Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join our welcoming and psychologically minded team to provide a service of excellence for Children and Young People and their families within Hertfordshire, primarily in Stevenage.
This post offers experience ranging from specialist assessments and intervention to supporting other members of the psychology team across the county, and working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team. It forms part of a well established leadership team with responsibility for quality care and governance. We are seeking someone who shares our values around high quality, evidence-based, compassionate and trauma-informed services, whether in psychological therapies or neuropsychological assessment.
The ethos of the team is continuous quality improvement and co-producing what our clients require, with a passion for service development and innovation. Candidates who can support audit, research, and project development within the service are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
* Carry out specialist psychological assessment (including risk assessment) and treatment of referred clients.
* Provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing directly to formulations, diagnoses and case management plans.
* Provide professional and clinical supervision to Psychologists and management supervision to other psychological therapists within the team.
* Support psychological aspects of service development, evaluation, research and teaching, and maintain standards in supervision and CPD.
* Assume a key leadership role within the team and across the wider psychology professional group; work collaboratively to improve delivery of care to young people and families.
Main duties also include contributing to quality care and governance, and working within CAPA and CYP-IAPT principles.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Essential: Upper second class honours degree or higher in Psychology; entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
* Desirable: Further postgraduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice or research design and analysis.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working with people with mental health problems; experience in services providing therapeutic input to children/young people (e.g., CAMHS); experience using data-analysis tools (Excel, SPSS); strong collaborative and communication skills; ability to work in emotive settings.
* Desirable: Experience of CYP-IAPT and PC-MIS; experience in clinical service audits; experience in line management.
