Do great clinical work and still have a life
If you're done with five-day weeks that feel like seven, this ones for you. A full-time Veterinary Surgeon role built around balance, flexibility, and doing the job properly — not just surviving it.
Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Hours: 40 hours over 4 days per week
Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturdays
Flexibility: Part-time options available — lets talk
The Role
You'll be joining a supportive, well-organised practice delivering high-quality small animal care to a loyal client base. This is a role with real clinical autonomy, a sensible caseload, and colleagues who back each other up.
Whether you're an experienced vet or building confidence post-qualification, you'll be encouraged to work to your strengths and develop areas that actually interest you.
What You'll Be Doing
* Consulting and performing routine surgery to a high standard
* Managing medical cases with confidence and care
* Working collaboratively with RVNs and support staff
* Building strong, trusted relationships with clients
* Maintaining excellent clinical and professional standards
What Were Looking For
* RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
* Small animal experience (or the confidence to grow into it)
* A team-first mindset with a calm, professional approach
* Someone who values quality medicine and work–life balance
Why This Role Stands Out
* 4-day working week — because burnout isn't a badge of honour
* Fair weekend rota with breathing space
* Open-minded approach to part-time working
* Supportive team and sensible practice culture
* A role that adapts to your lifestyle, not the other way round
