Electrical Fitter – Black Start Project
Aureos, working in partnership with UK Power Networks (UKPN), is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join the Black Start Project within the EPN Region. This role involves the safe removal, replacement, and commissioning of battery chargers in UKPN substations, ensuring continuity of supplies throughout works.
Job Purpose
To work as part of a team, carrying out the removal, installation, and commissioning of battery chargers at Primary and Grid substations while maintaining temporary supplies, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with UKPN standards.
Principal Accountabilities
* Safely remove existing 110V, 48V, and 30V battery chargers from UKPN substations.
* Ensure continuity of supplies by installing and maintaining temporary battery chargers while work is ongoing.
* Install and commission new battery chargers, complete supply transfers, and verify operational performance.
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of works.
* Maintain high standards of work quality, housekeeping and health & safety practices throughout all tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

• UKPN Substation entry authorisation.
·
• First Aid certification.
·
• Manual handling training.
·
• Electrical LV experience
·
• Battery charger and Black Start project experience.
·
• Strong health & safety awareness, including PPE requirements.
·
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
·
• Minimum 3 years' DNO experience (preferred).
