Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Nuneaton, West Midlands
Salary: £34,080 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in payments)
Hourly Rate: £14
Rota: 1 on / 2 off (including sleep-ins)
Service Type: Children's Residential (EBD - Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our client\'s passionate team in a solo children\'s home based in Nuneaton. This is a vital role within a therapeutic EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) setting. You will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports positive outcomes for the child.
As a Senior RSW, you will work closely with the Registered Manager, acting as a key role model and mentor to junior staff, while ensuring the home maintains the highest standards of care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent, trauma-informed care to a young person with emotional and behavioural needs.
* Lead shifts, ensuring staff are supported and daily routines are maintained effectively.
* Contribute to and implement individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with the child, promoting emotional security and development.
* Support the young person with daily tasks including education, personal care, activities, and appointments.
* Respond to challenging behaviours with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with Ofsted standards.
* Assist in training, mentoring, and developing new or junior support workers.
* Work closely with families, social workers, and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
* Minimum of 2 years\' experience working with children in a residential setting.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Essential.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work a 1 on / 2 off rota including sleep-in duties.
* Full UK driving licence - required
