Our client, a leading engineering company in Derby, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support projects in the Energy sector, including Renewable, Fossil Fuel, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, and Waste-to-X.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pre- and post-contract design activities, working independently and as part of a team through all project stages.
* Engage with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Prepare concept sketches, calculations, and attend meetings in the UK and overseas.
* Perform detailed engineering calculations and interpret customer requirements.
* Develop manufacturing documentation, customer deliverables, and support site surveys and technical reports.
* Contribute to R&D and promote best practices within the team.
Essential Qualifications:
* HND level engineering qualification or equivalent.
* Experience in mechanical design, structural analysis, and working to international standards (Eurocode, ASCE 7).
* Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing techniques.
* Full UK driving license and ability to travel overseas.
Desirable Skills:
* Degree in Engineering (preferably 2:1 or above).
* Experience with Autodesk Robot software, pressure vessel design, acoustical calculations, thermo-fluid analysis, and piping diagrams.
* Knowledge of hazardous area directives and construction regulations.
What We Offer:
* Salary from £35,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.
