We have an exceptional opportunity in support of the education and training of Allied Healthcare Professionals (AHP's). The successful post holder must be highly motivated, dynamic and able to both organise and deliver learning opportunities to our exceptional staff across different levels of experience.
This is an exciting area of development, with the advent of Imaging academies, long-term workforce planning and educator workforce strategies all supporting the importance of these roles throughout the NHS.
We are looking for individuals who are able to provide strong evidence of previous work in education and training, along with clear ambition on how to best support the development of the imaging workforce, making them more productive, effective and subsequently supporting both retention of our staff, but also recruitment.

Imaging has a strong record in developing its staff, with a huge array of options available internally to progress your knowledge and skills in what is a leadership role.
Main duties of the job
1. To contribute to the development and update of policies, protocols and guidelines to support the services across the trust
2. To demonstrate awareness and compliance with Trust policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. This will include identification of risk.
3. Provide clinical supervision and work-based learning to all trainees from the imaging workforce.
4. To assess quality of the clinical and other practice learning environments and propose interventions for improvement.
5. To assess and diagnose patients as required based on specialism to ensure ongoing development of own radiography practice providing a highly specialist, tailored clinical technical service contributing to diagnosis.
6. Demonstrate advanced practice in the use of highly sophisticated equipment to provide diagnostic imaging for our patients.

Education
Essential criteria
7. Registered Radiographer with HCPC
8. Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience, or working towards relevant postgraduate qualification.
9. Proven and current experience of highly specialised radiographer practice underpinned by theory (acquired through degree, post graduate study and significant experience in a specialist field of radiography).
10. Track record of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
11. A formal education or teaching qualification/ commitment to commence a recognised course of study to achieve a teaching qualification.
12. Knowledge of local higher education training programmes and curriculum for radiology
Experience
Essential criteria
13. Minimum 3.5-4 years clinical experience as a radiographer within a specific modality.
14. Contemporary knowledge of diagnostic imaging (theory and practice).
15. Delivery of education and training within a clinical area.
16. Experience of mentoring trainee radiographers within a modality.
Desirable criteria
17. Contributing to pre-registration or post-graduate curriculum training and/or development.
18. Experience of management

20. Experience for applying for funding opportunities for training
