Consultant in Gastroenterology (Cardiff and Vale University Health Board)
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Gastroenterology, based within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
The successful candidate will join a large and dynamic team of Consultant Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists within the Health Board. The department provides a comprehensive service for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders from Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, both at district level and as a tertiary centre.
Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.
Qualifications
* Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
* Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full.
* Applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
Responsibilities
* Participate in a rota for weekend GI retrieval and ward reviews and an approximate 1 in 14 emergency endoscopy rota.
* The post holder will not participate in the general medical on-call rota but the team reviews all new GI and liver admissions daily.
* You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £110,240 per annum to £160,951 per annum.
