Overview
We are looking to recruit a Clinical Specialist Nurse to work within the IBD service within Gastroenterology in the Medicine Division. The team consists of 5 Luminal Consultants, 1 Nurse Consultant and 2 IBD Specialist nurses. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and organised, with effective communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure high quality patient care. This role is an ideal starting position for developing nursing skills within the specialty of Irritable Bowel Disease. The role will be based across Monday–Friday 9–5pm.

The Nurse Specialist will provide support for the patient and family from diagnosis of IBD through treatment and throughout the care journey, using advanced communication and psychological assessment skills to identify and alleviate psychological distress, including onward referral to other agencies as appropriate. Responsibilities
 * Provide support for patients and families from diagnosis through treatment and the care journey in IBD.
 * Utilise advanced communication and psychological assessment skills to identify psychological distress and assess needs for onward referral to other agencies and disciplines as appropriate.
 * Collaborate with the Gastroenterology team to ensure high quality patient care.
 * Work across a Monday–Friday schedule as specified.

Qualifications
 * Qualified nurse with relevant experience in a clinical setting; experience in IBD or related gastroenterology services is desirable.
 * Strong communication, organisational, and independent working skills; ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
