Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Mental Health
Closing date: 13 May 2026
Are you looking for a role that is transformative, meaningful and professionally stretching? Do you enjoy building relationships, problem‑solving and advocating for people whose communication needs are often overlooked? We are seeking a proactive, compassionate SLT to help shape a developing service for adults with complex communication and swallowing needs within the acute mental health setting at Hafan y Coed, University Hospital Llandough.
The service is growing and you will play a central role in establishing SLT as an essential part of the multidisciplinary team. Your curiosity, person‑centred approach, creativity and collaborative spirit will be valued more than extensive mental‑health experience. The supportive SLT team offers full supervision, CPD, shadowing and ongoing guidance to develop clinicians in new specialist areas.
You will provide specialist assessment and intervention, support MDT decision‑making and capacity assessments, train and empower ward staff, shape pathways and advocate for patients whose needs may otherwise go unnoticed.
You will join a motivated, development‑focused team with strong leadership, opportunities to innovate and access to specialist networks and supervision. Whether you are an experienced Band 7 or a Band 6 ready to progress, we would love to hear from you.
