Job Specification – Product Lead (AI and Market Specialist)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Lead to drive the vision, strategy, and delivery of cutting-edge AI-enabled solutions across the UK home-buying and mortgage ecosystem.
This pivotal role requires a strategic and outward-facing leader who combines deep market understanding with AI product expertise. You will engage closely with lenders, conveyancers, PropTechs, and regulators to shape innovative digital services that transform the property transaction process.
You will be responsible for defining the product roadmap, driving adoption, and ensuring AI solutions are safe, compliant, and deliver measurable value to clients. This role also includes supporting and mentoring Product Owners and Business Analysts within the team, embedding best practices in product management.

Key Responsibilities
* Product Strategy and Vision
* Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-enabled solutions.
* Establish product objectives, OKRs, and metrics to measure adoption, value, and compliance.
* Continuously identify and prioritise market opportunities and client needs.
* Market and Customer Engagement
* Act as the voice of lenders, conveyancers, and end-users, gathering insights and feeding them into product design.
* Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and ecosystem scanning.
* Build strong relationships with industry bodies (e.g., OPDA, PDTF, FCA) and technology partners.
* Go-to-Market Strategy
* Partner with Marketing and Sales to position AI products for adoption.
* Support launch strategies, demos, case studies, and participation in industry events.
* Enable adoption by ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and client expectations.
* Stakeholder Management
* Act as a trusted partner for client stakeholders, regulators, and ecosystem partners.
* Work closely with internal squads (engineering, data, compliance, design) to translate market needs into clear delivery requirements.
* Manage competing priorities and ensure transparent decision-making.
* Product Roadmap and Oversight
* Own and update the product roadmap, adapting to shifting client and regulatory landscapes.
* Make evidence-based prioritisation decisions across features and experiments.
* Monitor product performance, gathering data-driven insights for iteration.
* Innovation and Ecosystem Development
* Build an innovation pipeline for testing new AI approaches (LLMs, graph data, agentic AI).
* Evaluate partnership opportunities with PropTechs and AI vendors.
* Ensure interoperability with HDI (Horizontal Digital Integration) standards.
* Coaching and Mentoring
* Support junior team members in product best practice.
* Foster a culture of learning and responsible AI use across the organisation.
* Enable knowledge transfer between Novus, clients, and partners.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of the UK property and mortgage market.
* Proven ability to define and execute product strategy in digital or AI-enabled services.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement across complex ecosystems.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn insights into product direction.
* Confident in managing compliance considerations (FCA, PRA, EU AI Act).
* Experience working with engineering, UX, and data science teams in agile environments.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with mentoring experience.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven track record in product leadership roles, ideally in BFSI, PropTech, or LegalTech.
* Hands-on experience launching AI or data-driven products.
* Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
* Degree in Business, Technology, or related field (desirable but not essential).
* Knowledge of AI technologies (LLMs, NLP, machine learning pipelines) highly desirable.
