The role
To lead and support the PMO activity in service of delivery of critical Capital Markets (CM) business outcomes aligned to the RS & AM Strategic Business Plan. This role is pivotal in driving and leading Capital Markets activities and team members across the CM domain, ensuring that change initiatives are executed with precision, transparency, and strategic alignment.
You will operate at the heart of the Transformation Office, partnering with senior stakeholders in Transformation, Technology and Data, Finance and the CM Business Unit to ensure that programmes and projects deliver measurable value, meet the requirements of the Change Management Framework, and contribute to long-term business success.
1. Lead PMO activities and team members across the CM Portfolio of high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with the RS & AM Strategic Business Plan and broader TT &D goals.
2. Work closely with leaders in CM providing them with specialist PMO skills and expertise and ensuring the PMO needs of the Portfolio are met.
3. Capital Markets expertise: Apply deep knowledge of CM projects and operational activity to support delivery of change into the business unit, create deep connectivity with CM Stakeholders, anticipate risks manifesting in this specialist area, and applying this expertise to support the transformation forums servicing CM outcomes.
4. Governance & Reporting: Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership and ETO.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior business leaders in CM and delivery teams to ensure shared understanding of priorities, risks, and dependencies.
6. Portfolio Management: Oversee planning, tracking, and delivery of multiple projects and programmes, ensuring resource optimisation, budget control, and benefits realisation.
7. Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies, escalating where necessary and driving resolution.
8. Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in PMO and change delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
9. Manage, coach and develop a pool of up to 12 PMO analysts
What are we looking for?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior PMO or Programme Manager within a Capital Markets environment.
10. Delivery orientated and can demonstrate success in delivering a PMO service offering to complex transformation programmes in regulated environments.
11. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
12. Expertise in portfolio governance, reporting tools, and risk management frameworks.
13. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with multiple competing priorities.
14. Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or MSP.
15. Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
Essential
16. Proven experience in a Senior PMO or Programme Management role within Capital Markets environment, with a strong understanding of the business unit and its operations.
