We are looking for a Premises Assistant to join the Commercial Property Maintenance team on one of our projects in Essex.
The purpose of the role to join a team focused on providing an excellent customer experience to our Essex Schools project, the role will be to assist the Premises Manager and team onsite, liaise with our Helpdesk, cleaning and grounds teams ensuring our service is delivered to the highest standards. This role will involve building and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders to deliver the requirements of our customers
What you’ll do:
1. Contribute to the Onsite Premises team in the provision of a caretaking Service within the school.
2. To comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
3. To ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is carried out as determined by PPM plan, Helpdesk, and line manager.
4. Operating the heating plant so that the required temperatures are maintained in the premises and an adequate supply of hot water is available. Carrying out frost precaution procedures as appropriate.
5. To support school and comply with school-based procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident or major damage.
6. To carry out first line investigation / repairs and maintenance with continued collaboration with the Line Manager and the Helpdesk.
7. Ensuring that all caretaking equipment is in a safe and working condition and report any faults to the Line Manager and Helpdesk for their repair as appropriate.
8. Preparing the school premises and site for assemblies, meetings and out of school activities and clearing up after these activities, providing support as required
9. The routine and non-routine opening of premises and grounds. Responding to calls outside normal working hours as a result of break-ins etc. and/or the setting off of the burglar alarm(s)
10. To assist with facilitating the day-to-day management of Sub-contractor activity on site
11. To ensure safe access and egress on school grounds during periods of inclement weather
12. To be available for ongoing evening /weekend lettings / school events and have the flexibility to cover occasional lettings which may arise.
