A vacancy has arisen for a Team Leader to join the Ash Handling based at West Burton Power Station. This role will be Responsible for the effective supervision of a team of people responsible for ash handling at West Burton Power Station this includes any sub-contractors and agency staff under their control.
The role briefly encompasses the following:
Manage lead by example, motivate and deploy work to a team of employees to which they are authorised and trained to carry out. Pre-job and post job briefs
Ensure all procedures are followed correctly and in line with the company policy's current legislation and site rules.
To maximise and ensure all work is correctly managed & covered within their scope of work and to ensure work is carried out on time and all relevant paperwork is provided. after every shift and signed off where appropriate.
Provide assistance in the field when and where needed in operating mobile plant and equipment and cover managerial duties.
Ensure all operational measuring tools are up to date and forwarded to the relevant parties on time (KPI data etc.)
Utilise manpower to get the most effective performance through the shifts and manage and ensure all Health & safety Procedures are followed and adhered to.
Brief and inform your team members when and where applicable (Toolbox talks) and give information and instruction to the team as necessary to ensure compliance.
Conduct regular visits/inspections and walking tours to ensure correct and safe working practices are maintained alongside the client's requirement.
Look at ways to continuingly improve service.
Effectively manage holiday/ Rota cover where applicable to ensure there is no lapses in production/loading or moving of any materials which could arise in a client complaint to which the ash handling team are responsible for.
Ensure all the team have the appropriate inductions to operate in these areas which include HIS and agency or sub-contractors under their control.
Effectively manage the fleet of vehicles that apply to the role, ensuring safety checks, checking of pre-starts and booking in with HIS's/hire companies to ensure the vehicles are correctly serviced and maintained in line with current legislation.
Attend Hargreaves and client meetings as and when required to do so.
Shall update/maintain daily weekly or monthly information relevant to their position on the HIS and client's systems as required.

Must be able to populate, use and keep documented records as part of the role
IOSH as a minimum

Operating machinery i.e ADT, F.E.L, Tractor and water bowser, Dozer etc.
Good computer skills
First aid trained
Reactive and proactive in service/ operations to ensure no disruption of service.
Good problem solver and flexible
Good level of personal presentation and hygiene
Flexible approach to work
A Strong team player / Leader
Ability to work independently and on their own initiative.
Good time keeping and willing to work/cover operations as required/ necessary.
