This is an exciting time to join Sandwell MBC Adult Social Care. We are currently restructuring ourmunity social work teams to create town teams and a separate YAT/Transitions Team for Sandwell adults.We are looking to recruit a part-time ( hrs) agency Social Worker into our YAT/Transitions.
Team to bring it to full capacity until permanent staff are recruited to the team.
Your new role
We are looking for amitted and hardworking qualified Social Worker with Adult Social Work experience. You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, andmunity DOLS/LPS. You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults with Learning Disabilities/Autism and also have some knowledge of physical disabilities, people with profound &plex needs, carers and the widermunity. You will need to be confident in undertaking safeguarding investigations, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, carrying out oue-focused assessments, with support planning, to meet their care and support needs.You must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and with our partner agencies to deliver the best oues for our customers who have a learning disability/Autism.You will be given an induction, appropriate training opportunities and regular supervision by an experienced manager. You will be working in a friendly environment, with a skilled, diverse and supportive team.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have at least 2 years post-qualification permanent experience in Adults Social Care and strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding legislation. To be successful, you will require a Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, CSS or CCETSW approved equivalent). It is also essential that you have a current professional registration with Social Work England and have UK experience.
