An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join the Acute Care Team as a Nurse Practitioner. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace the challenge of this dynamic role. The post holder will possess sound knowledge of the acutely ill patient thus ensuring their effective management and treatment. You must be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuing professional development. All applicants should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, work across professional boundaries and be flexible in an extremely busy environment. Responsibilities of the role include supporting ward rounds, requesting investigations, following up management plans, linking with the multidisciplinary team to make multi-professional referrals or escalate care, recording clear concise records in accordance with the NMC guidelines including electronic discharge letters. This post will be based in the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Emergency & Inpatient Services, Acute Services Directorate supporting acute medical admissions. Shift pattern is across 7 days & 12.5 hour shifts. An NMC prescribing qualification and advanced clinical examination (ACE) course are desirable and preference will be given to candidates who have completed these academic courses. The successful candidate will be expected to attain any additional qualifications within the first 12-18 months of employment therefore must be able to undertake masters level academic work and should hold and undergraduate degree.
