Position: Outreach Youth Worker (Mentoring Role)
Hourly Rate: £20 per hour (PAYE)
Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Flexible Hours: Between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM
Age Group: Key Stage 1-4
Specialist Provision: SEN, SEND, SEMH, Behavioural, Medical
About The Role
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Outreach Youth Mentor to support children and young people with a range of emotional, behavioural, and educational needs. You will work one-to-one with students in community or residential settings, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and re-engage with education. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide emotional support and guidance to students facing challenges such as mental health issues, family difficulties, or academic stress
* Help young people develop essential life skills including communication, time management, and decision-making
* Encourage self-esteem and personal growth by recognising and nurturing individual strengths
* Act as a positive role model, promoting constructive behaviours and attitudes
* Support the reintegration of students into educational settings by addressing behavioural and emotional barriers
Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working with young people, particularly those with complex or challenging needs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
* Proven experience in mentoring or youth work
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Legal right to work in the UK
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
