Maintenance Assistant/Handyperson - Bicester, Oxfordshire Job Type: Full Time This is an outstanding career opportunity with a not for profit charitable organisation committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture related activities for the local communities in which we serve. The Opportunity We now have an opportunity for an experienced maintenance handyperson to join the contract maintenance team at our West Northants and Cherwell Leisure sites which are based in Bicester, Kidlington, Banbury, Towcester and Brackley. In this role you will be expected to work to the highest standards, producing high quality work assisting with the general maintenance of our leisure centres and managing the redecoration and monthly schedules to ensure properties are maintained in an excellent decorative condition. The successful applicant will need to be self motivated, enthusiastic and outgoing with previous maintenance experience. You will be responsible for completing planned, routine, breakdown and reactive maintenance across the site. This will include basic building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating as well as work in the swimming pool plant rooms. The Person The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria It is imperative that you are flexible to work variable day or night shifts on any day of the week to suit business demands. You will be asked to work as part of the team as well as being able to take your own initiative and work individually. This is a very demanding role and we are looking for someone who has a great eye for attention to detail and who takes pride in their work. Experience of working in occupied properties. Skill sets should include electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting and decorating and must cover all disciplines. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Good computer literacy skills.
