We currently have opportunities in our Domestic Services Department at Mold Community Hospital for enthusiastic, motivated individuals. The Domestic Services team is responsible for maintaining environmental cleanliness standards, and we are seeking additional Domestic Assistants to perform these duties within our hospital. Previous experience in the cleaning industry is beneficial but not essential, as successful candidates will receive on-the-job training and supervision.
Responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining cleanliness of floors, furniture, and fittings, as well as removing marks from walls, partitions, and doors in accordance with set methods, standards, and frequencies.
2. Carrying out non-cleaning tasks such as washing patients' crockery, jugs, glasses, and making beds with clean linen (within staff accommodation) according to standards and schedule.
3. Operating cleaning equipment, including electrical devices, to achieve specified cleanliness standards.
4. Handling refuse for disposal purposes.
5. Replenishing supplies of paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and hand moisturizer as needed.
6. Monitoring stock levels of cleaning materials, refuse bags, toilet tissue, and other supplies, requesting resupply as necessary.
7. Organizing daily workload within work scheduling guidelines to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to standard.
8. Completing documentation to record full cleaning procedures.
9. Understanding specified cleaning methods and frequencies.
10. Communicating effectively with Domestic Supervisors, patients, visitors, and staff to maintain cleanliness standards.
11. Ensuring compliance with Health Board and departmental policies, procedures, and good practices.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
