PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Due to the continued success of the firm, we are looking to recruit an additional Financial Reporting Analyst to join the Leeds based team.
Working as part of the Finance team your role as a Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of management information and analysis, assisting with specification and design, and seeking to improve and standardise current processes wherever possible.
THE TEAM
The Business Development & Client Support team is responsible for providing financial analysis, reporting, and strategic support to internal teams and externals clients alike.
Their main objective is to support strategic decision-making by providing accurate and timely financial and non-financial data regarding sectors, matters and clients. In addition, the team provides insights on our priority clients and on the profitability of the work we are undertaking for them
What sets the team apart is its ability to combine financial expertise with a deep understanding of the Firm's goals and objectives. They go beyond just providing financial analysis and reporting; actively contributing to business development by engaging with teams around the firm to drive profitable growth.
The BD & Client Support team provides an excellent introduction into the wider Group Finance team and as individuals gain experience and demonstrate strong performance, they may have the chance to take on more senior roles within the team or move into other areas of Finance.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
As a Financial Reporting Analyst you will:
• Produce timely and accurate routine weekly and monthly reporting for the Firm's Clients, Sectors, Groups and Teams.
• Perform client reporting for key clients of the Firm.
• Assist in specifying solutions to the management information requirements from the Firm.
• Assist with the analysis of data, identifying trends and areas of improvement in order to contribute to the decision-making process.
• Support the Pricing team in driving profitable growth in the business.
• Identify gaps in management information that will contribute to the understanding of the performance of the business.
• Specify and produce regular/ad-hoc reports to provide detailed analysis regarding business performance and client profitability.
• Deputise for other team members as and when required.
YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
To be successful in this role, what are the requirements:
• A desire to learn and succeed in a fast-paced finance team, with a specific focus on delivering high quality management information and analysis to the business and our clients.
• Be studying (or have the desire to start studying) towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
• Be able to work as part of a team and be able to thrive in a supportive and collegiate environment.
• To demonstrate a propensity to understand the business model and dynamics of a law firm.
• Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
• Strong attention to and desire to operate at a high level of detail.
• Good knowledge of excel and a high level of IT literacy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Excel is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and not be afraid to ‘get stuck in'.
• Good team player as well as capable of working using your own initiative.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Able to present data in formats relevant to the audience.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
