SEMH Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

We’re working with The Beacon Centre, a specialist SEMH school in North Shields, who are looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team.
You’ll be supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs—helping them engage with learning, build trust, and develop confidence. This is a role for someone calm under pressure, patient, and committed to seeing the potential in every child.
Your role will include:
* 1:1 and small group SEMH support
* Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
* Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning
* Creating a safe, structured classroom environment
You should have:
* Experience in SEMH, SEND, youth work or similar
* Strong communication and empathy skills
* A calm, positive approach to behaviour management

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
