Role and responsibilities
As an Electrician, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues in a team that includes Plumbers, other Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators, and others who are dedicated to making a positive difference. You will contribute to providing a safe and secure environment for all.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair tasks in a prison environment, ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support facilities maintenance and operations.
* Contribute to the ongoing safety and security of prisoners, staff, and visitors.
* Assist in planning and delivering maintenance activities in line with regime requirements.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
* Two years’ experience working as a fully qualified electrician
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
