We are seeking to appoint a Student Support Supervisor / Librarian to oversee the effective operation of the Refocus Room (and at times Assisted Reintegration Room) and Library. Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff, the postholder will support pupils who require additional guidance to re-engage positively with learning and school life. They will help maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment, promoting good behaviour, reflection, and personal responsibility. In addition, the Student Support / Librarian will manage the day-to-day running of the school library, fostering a love of reading and ensuring resources are well organised and accessible to all students.

Salary: BG8 s/p 12-16 (£29,064-£31,022 pro rata)
Location: Whitchurch, Bristol
Contract Type: 35hrs pw 8.30am-4.15pm (45min lunch)
Contract Term: Permanent - Term time only
You are:
1. A strong communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
2. Calm, patient and resilient with the ability to remain composed under pressure
3. Well-organised and proactive with strong administrative and ICT skills and attention to detail
4. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
You will:
5. Supervise and support students in the Refocus Room or ARC, ensuring a calm, focused, and purposeful learning environment.
6. Set high expectations for behaviour, reinforcing the school’s behaviour policies and ensuring students adhere to them.
7. Intervene with identified pupils to improve behaviour and support individual or small groups of pupils as required.
8. Run and develop a high-quality library service
