Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and skilled Carpenter/All-Rounder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills, including carpentry, fabrication, and general building work. Duties
* Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures using various materials and techniques
* Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
* Perform joinery tasks including fitting doors, windows, and cabinetry
* Fabricate custom components as needed for specific projects
* Assist with roofing activities, including fixing tiles or sheets and ensuring waterproofing standards are met
* Undertake heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Carry out construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing or protective coatings
* Support plumbing tasks such as installing pipes or fixtures where required
* Contribute to masonry work including laying bricks or blocks when necessary
* Assist with electrical installations or repairs if qualified or as directed by specialists
* Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently and safely
Skills
* Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, and general construction activities
* Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers
* Competence with power tools including drills, sanders, and saws
* Knowledge of fabrication techniques and assembly processes
* Ability to undertake roofing work with attention to safety standards
* Experience in plumbing, masonry, or electrical work is highly desirable
* Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual labour tasks
* Good organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings and specifications
* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting on-site issues
