Role Responsibilities
* Designing and evolving secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms
* Driving the adoption of automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
* Building and optimising solutions across Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure
* Taking ownership of services in production, ensuring reliability, performance, and security
* Diagnosing and resolving complex issues across distributed systems and environments
* Working closely with engineering, product, security, and testing teams to deliver high-quality solutions
* Contributing to architecture discussions, planning activities, and technical decision-making
* Promoting DevOps best practices and a culture of continuous improvement
* Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers within the team
Essential Experience
* Strong experience working as a Senior Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer
* Active level of Security Vetting is essential for this role
* Hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, and Infrastructure as Code
* Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go
* Experience using version control systems such as Git
* Proven track record of building and supporting cloud-based platforms in production
* Solid experience with AWS and/or Azure environments
* Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes)
* Strong understanding of system design principles including scalability, resilience, and security
* A methodical approach to troubleshooting and solving complex technical challenges
Desirable
* Cloud certifications across AWS or Azure
* Exposure to SaaS or PaaS platforms
* Experience mentoring or coaching engineers
* Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience
