We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to oversee our seven dedicated shop teams across Cambridgeshire. In this role you will live the Arthur Rank Hospice Values; Caring, Compassionate Community, and Excellence. You will provide great leadership, support and inspiration to empower the shop teams (paid colleagues and volunteers) to be the very best they can be. You will develop your teams to drive and deliver commercial success, be ambassadors of the charity and an active part of their local community. As well as driving success in our current shops, we are looking to grow the number of shops we have across the county, the Area Manager will be a key part of this growth – identifying opportunities and supporting the set up of new shops and teams. This role is ideally suited to an experienced Area Manager with a background in clothing and the charity sector, but we also welcome candidates from the retail industry with strong transferable skills, a great attitude and willingness to learn. Key responsibilities of the role will include: Maximising sales and effectively managing expenditure to achieve profit targets. Support and deliver key activities from the Retail Strategy. Oversee shop teams composed of both paid colleagues and volunteers to drive performance. Build effective working relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Positively promote Arthur Rank Hospice Charity to the public in the local community. About You You will be passionate about retail. You will have a love of sustainable fashion and bring extensive, multi-site experience managing a large team. You will be commercial, resilient, have a can-do attitude and be a great coach and an inspirational leader. You will be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic, a great attention to detail and solid reporting skills. Due to the nature of this role there will be an element of manual handling and physical activity involved. Lone working may also be required from time to time. Candidates are required to be physically capable (with reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates) of meeting these job requirements. It is also a requirement to hold a UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes, the post will also occasionally drive our company van and successful candidates must be eligible to join our group insurance for this. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, we are looking for flexibility on working hours over Monday – Sunday as our shops are open 7 days a week. Interviews will be held on the 10th and 11th June. Starting salary of £30.570, with opportunities to progress to £37,213 Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-rata’d for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, we may be able to negotiate on this.
